Sporting goods store Scott Stodgers Sports & Apparel is closing its doors after 18 years in business, after more than 30 years in the area.
The store’s closure is expected to be permanent.
Stoddarts Sports & Apps parent company, Burkes Sporting Goods, announced the store’s closing this morning.

The brand will no longer be available for retail.
The store was founded by Scott Stoodley in 1974, and is known for its high quality athletic gear, apparel, and accessories.
Burkes Sporting & Apples is a well-known retailer in the Tampa area.
Its flagship store, the Scott Stokes Sports & Gear, is located on North Main Street in the central part of the Tampa Bay area.
It was closed on Sunday.
Stoddarts, which was started by Stoodly, has expanded to include other sporting goods stores in other parts of Florida.
